Eligibility
Students admitted in the 2002 academic year or later, students readmitted after initially enrolling in the 2002 academic year or later, and transfer students admitted to the corresponding academic year.

(However, students who transferred from Incheon City College into the second year or higher following the university integration are subject to the previous requirements.)

Alternative Recognition (Substitute Course for English Graduation Certification)
Students who fail to meet the above certification requirements may receive alternative recognition if they have taken an officially recognized English proficiency test at least twice within the past two years, completed at least 96 hours of English-related special courses offered and administered by the university’s Foreign Language Education Center, and passed the prescribed examination.
Application for Exemption from English Graduation Certification
- Students who wish to apply for an exemption from the English Graduation Certification requirement must complete the application no later than 30 days before the expected graduation date through:
Integrated Information System > Academic Administration > Graduation > English Certification Management > English Graduation Certification Application > [Foreign Language Qualification Type] : select and enter the applicable exemption category (e.g., employed/self-employed, freelancer, etc.), and obtain approval from the department.

Substitute Courses for English Graduation Certification(Foreign Language Education Center)
Course Overview
The substitute courses for English Graduation Certification are designed for students who have difficulty meeting the graduation certification requirement through official English proficiency test scores. Students who complete the required number of instructional hours for the designated substitute courses and pass the prescribed examinations will be granted English Graduation Certification.
Eligibility
Fourth-year students or students who have completed all required coursework but have not achieved the minimum score required for English Graduation Certification on an officially recognized English proficiency test.
Tuition
- Songdo Campus : KRW 100,000 per course
- Jemulpo Campus : KRW 60,000 per course
Application Requirements
- Songdo Campus : Fourth-year students or students who have completed all required coursework and who have taken an officially recognized English proficiency test at least twice within the past two years but have not achieved the minimum score required for English Graduation Certification.
- Jemulpo Campus : Fourth-year students or students who have completed all required coursework, admitted through the special transfer admission program following the integration with Incheon City College, who have taken an officially recognized English proficiency test at least once within the past two years but have not achieved the minimum score required for English Graduation Certification.
Passing Criteria
- Songdo Campus : Students must attend at least 48 hours of each course and achieve an average score of 70 or higher on at least three examinations.
- Jemulpo Campus : Students must attend at least 24 hours of each course and achieve an average score of 70 or higher on at least two examinations.
- ▶ Both R/C and L/C courses must be completed to receive English Graduation Certification.
▶ After grades for the substitute courses have been processed, students may check their certification status through:
Portal → Integrated Information System → Academic Administration → Graduation Management, or by contacting their department office.

- Apply separately for the Reading and Listening courses, then click “Save.”
- 1Click Songdo (Jemulpo) Reading, enter the required information such as official English proficiency test details, and save.
- 2Click Songdo (Jemulpo) Listening, enter the required information such as official English proficiency test details, and save.
When entering official English proficiency test scores, all information must be entered accurately. The information provided will be verified through the "TOEIC Committee". - Students who have not taken an official English proficiency test are not eligible to enroll.
Students enrolled at Songdo Campus may take only courses offered at Songdo Campus, while students enrolled at Jemulpo Campus may take only courses offered at Jemulpo Campus.Students who have previously completed either of the two courses must consult the Foreign Language Education Center before applying.
