The Self design seminar is a course for first-year students to help them adapt to college life. This course includes an orientation of college life and campus resources, an introduction and overview of the discipline and career path, academic seminars on various topics, basic study skill seminars, counseling with professors, and various activities for friendship with peers and professors. This course will enhance first-year students' understanding of college life and discipline.

This course aims to cultivate students' competence to conduct effective teaching of Japanese by integrating other subjects. Students will be required to conduct teaching practices at local junior high schools for two hours per week. Students will enhance their ability to provide integrative education through creating teaching materials in connection with the use of information and media data in the digital environment of education. Through such practices, this course provides ample opportunities to understand the importance of integrative education that can collaborate with AI in the future.

Also, in this course, students will be able to develop their competence to create and use digital content in relation to the use of information and media data at the educational sites. In addition, this course helps student develop the competence to lead creative educational innovation by integrating AI and digital content in future educational environments.

3 1학기 [0004859] Teacher's Japanese Education Seminar

This is a seminar in which students are supposed to acquire on-the-spot experiences on Korean secondary school Japanese education from teachers invited from about 15 different secondary schools. This is also a strategic course by means of which each teacher is designated as a mentor for a participating student. The mentor is to provide his student with a week-long class observation at his school at the end of the semester and also the next semester, and then with an opportunity for the month-long student teaching practice which must happen during the Spring semester of the student’s senior year.

In this course, we will examine Japanese language eduaction as multilingual/multicultural education and character education. We take into account different aspects of multilingual/multicultural education and character education, such as its purpose, necessity, current status, issues, and improvements. In this way, the purpose of this course is to cultivate appropriate attitudes and abilities to practice multilingual/multicultural and character education for future language teachers.
