Graduation Credits (Article 61)
Graduation Credits
- Students admitted before 2007: 140 credits or more
- Students admitted in 2008 or later: 135 credits or more
(College of Engineering, College of Information Technology, College of Urban Science, excluding the Dept. of Urban Policy and Administration, Division of Bioengineering in the College of Life Science and Technology: 140 credits or more)
Credits for Liberal Arts
- Students admitted before 2007: Minimum of 25 credits
- Students admitted in 2008 or later: Minimum of 25 credits to a maximum of 55 credits
- Students admitted in 2012 or later: Minimum 30 credits to maximum 55 credits
- Liberal Arts Required Graduation Credits
- Students admitted before 2015: At least 8 credits of liberal arts requirements (1 Korean subject and at least 6 credits of English)
- Students admitted in 2016 or later (Students transferring in 2016 or later)
- Basic Liberal Arts 8 credits - 4 credits of University English 1,2, 2 credits of University English Conversation 1,2, 2 credits of Writing Theory and Practice or Engineering Writing and Presentation
- Select and complete at least 1 subject from 2 out of 3 INU Core Liberal Arts areas.
- Admitted in 2017 or later ( Transferred in 2017 or later)
- Basic Liberal Arts 8 credits - 4 credits of University English 1,2, 2 credits of University English Conversation 1,2, 2 credits of Writing Theory and Practice or Engineering Writing and Presentation
- Natural Science and Engineering: College Mathematics 1,2 (6) credits
(Excluding Dept. of Consumer and Children, Dept of Fashion & Industry, Fashion Industry Studies, Dept. of Urban Policy and Administration) - Select and complete at least 1 subject from 2 out of 3 INU Core Liberal Arts areas.
- Credits earned in restricted liberal arts courses by department (division) are excluded from graduation credits.
Major Subjects
- Graduation Credits
- Students admitted before 2009: 51 credits or more
- Students admitted in 2010 or later: 60 or more credits (humanities), 63 or more credits (natural sciences), 72 or more credits (engineering)
- Complete major basics and major requirements courses and credits in the major curriculum.
- If the same courses are repeated, the credits earned afterward are excluded from graduation credits.
For students doing a Minor (Article 62 of the Academic Regulations and Article 37 of the Concurrent Bylaws)
- Requirements: 21 credits or more, including courses (within 9 credits) that are mandatory in the minor (major).
- Recognition of completion: If the courses completed in the major department are the same as the minor courses, the minor courses are recognized as completed, but the total credit cannot exceed 9 credits.
Double Major (Article 63 of the Academic Regulations and Article 44 of the Concurrent Bylaws)
- Requirements: Includes all major requirements (including major basics)
- Students admitted before 2004: 36 or more credits in each major and double major
- Students admitted in 2005 or later: 42 credits or more in each major and double major
- Recognition of course credits
- If a course in the major was completed as a general elective or minor before applying for the double major, the course can be recognized as credit toward the double major.
- If the courses completed in the major are the same as those in the double major, they can be recognized in the major and double major (within 12 credits).
However, in the case of the same course, the double major department will recognize the course completed in the home department.

Readmitted students
- Suppose the curriculum table is different at the time of admission and after re-entry. In that case, the department will review both curricula and decide based on the department.

Transfer Students
- Be sure to take the subjects specified by the Transfer Student Credit Transfer Agreement created at the transfer time.
Due to the change in the liberal arts graduation requirement, transfer students before the 2015 academic year are required to complete within the liberal arts credit range regardless of the core liberal arts courses listed in the transfer credit articulation agreement, according to the Basic Education Institute No. 2346 (Dec. 24, 2015).
Early Graduation Requirements (for students admitted in 2009 or later)
- 135 or more credits (140 credits for engineering majors) with 4.0 or higher GPA.
Recognition of Other Credits
- Other earned credits (credits from other universities at domestic and abroad + online course credits (OCU) + advanced placement credits + credits earned during military service) are recognized only within the range of 1/2 of graduation credits.
Graduation thesis pass criteria (Article 88 of the Academic Regulations)
Graduation thesis(including practical presentation)
- D grade or higher in the examination evaluation
Graduation comprehensive examination
- 60% or more of the total examination score
English Graduation Qualification (Article 66 of the Academic Regulations) and TOPIK level 4 or higher for international students
Eligibility
- Students admitted after 2002, those who have been re-admitted after 2002, and those who have transferred to that year.
(Except for those who were admitted or transferred as athletic specialists, employed students, and military consignment students)
Application period
- Until 30 days before the expected graduation date (July 18, 2017)
Application process
- Apply for the comprehensive information system English graduation certification and submit supporting documents to the department (division) / major.
(The department will keep documents)
Certification criteria
- The transcript must be taken during the period of enrollment in the university and be within the validity period
- Those who were admitted after the 2010 academic year and those who transferred to the same grade (Those who transferred to the 2nd grade or higher from Incheon College due to university integration or those who have been re-admitted to the 2nd year under the (former) Incheon College Expelled Students Protection Measures Implementation Guideline apply the old standard)

- Alternative recognition: Those who have completed at least 96 hours (48 hours for special admission students) of English special courses organized and operated by the Foreign Language Education Center and passed the required test.
Exception for English Graduation Qualification
- Eligibility: Graduates or 4th year graduates who already are employed
- Application period: Submit to the department no later than 30 days before the expected graduation date (July 18, 2017)
- Required documents: Application for English Graduation Qualification Exception (General form)
- Employee (Workplace health insurance member): Employment certificate, health insurance eligibility verification certificate
- Employee (medical benefit recipient): National Basic Livelihood Recipient Certificate, Employment Certificate, Select 1 of Employment Insurance, National Pension, Workers' Compensation Certificate
(Example: Workers' Compensation Employment Information Verification Certificate) - Sole proprietor (business owner): Comprehensive income tax return (for those whose business income totaled KRW 6,390,000 or more in 2016)
- Freelancers: Withholding receipts from the previous year (for those whose business income in 2016 was KRW 3,780,810 or more)
Test of Proficiency in Korean for International Students (TOPIK) level 4 or higher
- Application period: Submit to the department office 30 days before the expected graduation date (July 18, 2017)
- Input period: 2017. 7. 17. ~ 7. 21.
※ Graduation requirements for international students: After enrollment, students can graduate only by submitting proof of Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) level 4 or higher by the semester before graduation.

Determination criteria for not meeting graduation requirements
Repeat determination (for students who have completed 8 semesters)
- Failure to complete the required curriculum (insufficient graduation credits, not completing major requirements, etc.)
- When dual (joint) majors have not fulfilled the graduation requirements, the main major graduation will be suspended.
Completion
- If you have completed the required curriculum, but failed the thesis or failed to obtain a graduation qualification (English, information literacy) (Completed students are not eligible to register for semesters and courses).
