Pulling The World Power
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
The study of Civil and Environmental Engineering improves the quality of life by loving the great nature and managing social infrastructure. Civil and environmental engineering includes environmental preservation and the development of facilities which increase convenience in daily human life.
Civil and environmental engineering serves as the foundation of a wide range of engineering subfields including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic engineering, coastal engineering, harbor engineering, construction management, nuclear engineering, survey and geospatial engineering, and tunnel, road, railway, and traffic engineering. Within its many engineering subfields, the areas of study covered by civil and environmental engineering are vast including land development, land preservation, environmental problems, traffic planning, facility planning, water‐resource planning, city planning, marine resources development, public welfare, social overhead capital (SOC), and social infrastructure. Through extensive theoretical and technical education, the civil and environmental engineering major cultivates professionals with the skills necessary to make significant contributions to national societal development.
