Opening ceremony of centers affiliated with Incheon National University's Future Mobility Research Institute in 2024

Incheon National University (President Park Jong-tae) said it held a joint opening ceremony on Dec. 10 (Tuesday) at Incheon National University for five centers affiliated with Future Mobility Research Center (Regional Industrial Intelligence Innovation Research Center, Future Automobile Convergence Innovation Center, Power Electronics Joint Research Center, and Vehicle Motor Driving Joint Research Center).

The Future Mobility Research Institute and its affiliated centers were created through the support and cooperation of government ministries such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Science and ICT, as well as private companies such as GMB Korea and Dabo Corporation. The attraction of such diverse research centers shows how outstanding Incheon National University's research capabilities for future cars are, confirming the potential of Incheon National University and the potential of local industries, while further highlighting the importance of the role that the institute will play in the future.

Park Jong-tae, president of Incheon National University, said at the opening ceremony, "Through the selection of the project and the establishment of the center, we will support it at the school level to become a regional innovation hub that will play a key role in the national and global important field of the future automobile industry." 

Heo Jin, director of the Future Mobility Research Institute, said, "We will establish ourselves as a representative research institute in Incheon through high-tech research and talent training in the future automotive field, and will become a future mobility research institute that will grow with the local community and create new value as a hub for industry-academic cooperation." At the event, major facilities and research results of the institute were introduced with the attendance of various companies and institutions cooperating with the institute, including GMB Korea, Dabo Corporation, Dongbo, MDS Tech, Mirim Siskon, Incheon Technopark, and Inha University, and participants said they are looking forward to the role of the institute. 

The Future Mobility Research Institute will carry out various research projects in the future, which is expected to play an important role in the development of technologies at home and abroad. The institute also plans to strengthen the domestic future automobile network to lead the global future automobile and operate various research and policies.

The Future Mobility Research Institute is a R&D-centered space aimed at cutting-edge technology and innovation, and is expected to be the cradle of new technology development. After the opening ceremony, the Future Mobility Research Institute began its official work and took steps toward a new future.
