Sculpture Institute of Incheon National University Operating Internal Regulations
Chapter 1 General
- Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of these guidelines is to stipulate the matters necessary for the operation of the Incheon National University Sculpture Institute (from now on referred to as the "Institute"), which conducts research, education, exhibition, consultation, technical guidance, deliberation, and evaluation in all fields of visual and cultural arts, including urban environmental art. It contributes to society by revitalizing the visual and cultural arts, advancing the urban environment, and industry-academia-government collaborative research activities.
- Article 2 (Location) The Institute is located in the College of Arts and Physical Education of Incheon National University (from now on referred to as "the University").
- Article 3 (Business) The Institute shall conduct the following businesses.
- 1. Research project on preserving the identity and characteristics of each region in Korea through urban environmental art.
- 2. Education and advisory activities for businesses in urban environmental art, visual and audiovisuals.
- 3. Research, investigation, consultation, evaluation, and implementation of domestic and international urban environment sculpture fields.
- 4. Research and advisory activities related to urban environmental design for urban regeneration projects.
- 5. Organize research presentations and seminars on visual and cultural arts in general.
- 6. International exchange exhibitions and projected exhibitions to revitalize visual culture and arts.
- 7. Collaborative research education and support projects related to visual culture and arts with industrial companies, research institutes, public institutions, etc.
- 8. Exchange and support projects for academic data
- 9. Publication of informational magazines and specialized books.
- 10. Any other incidental business necessary to carry out the purposes of the Institute.
Chapter 2 Organization and operations
- Article 4 (Organization) The organization of the Institute shall be as follows.
- 1. Director
- 2. Operating Committee
- 3. Researcher
- 4. Academic Research and Exchange (Domestic and International) Division
- 5. Public Art Design and Art Industry Content Division
- 6. Exhibition Planning and Support Consulting Division
- Article 5 (Director)
- ① The director represents the institute and is in charge of the work of the institute.
- ② The President shall appoint the Director upon recommendation of the Operating Committee from among faculty members at the rank of Associate Professor or above.
However, an assistant professor or higher may be appointed if it is difficult to appoint an associate professor or higher due to unavoidable circumstances. - ③ The term of office of the Director shall be two years.
- Article 6 (Operating Committee)
- ① From now on, the Institute shall have an Operating Committee (referred to as the "Committee") as its deliberation and decision-making organization.
- ② The committee shall consist of at most eight members, including the chairperson, and the director shall be the chairperson.
- ③ The committee members shall be appointed by the director from among full-time university faculty members and shall serve a term of two years.
- ④ The committee shall deliberate and resolve the following issues.
- 1. Lab operations and business plan
- 2. Lab budgeting and accounting
- 3. Establishment, Amendment, and Repeal of Laboratory Operating Guidelines
- 4. Approve research staff and advisors
- 5. Any other matters deemed necessary for consideration by the Operating Committee.
- ⑤ The Committee shall meet at the call of the Chair or a majority of the members.
- ⑥ Meetings of the Committee shall be quorate by the presence of a majority of the members present. The affirmative vote of a majority of the members present shall decide them.
- Article 7 (Researchers) Researchers shall be appointed by the Director with the consent of the Operating Committee and shall serve a term of one year.
- Article 8 (Practice Divisions of the Lab)
- ① The Academic Research and Exchange (Domestic and International) Division conducts various domestic and international exchange programs such as research, publications, seminars, and workshops on the urban environment and visual cultural arts.
- ② The Public Art Design and Art Industry Content Division promotes regenerative industries, public design research and development, and projects related to the urban environment. It develops content related to the urban environment and art industry.
- ③ The Exhibition Planning and Support Consulting Division promotes exhibition planning, displays, and exhibition-related seminars and oversees support services such as educational advisory, technical guidance, and deliberation for the visual arts.
Chapter 3 Finance and accounting
- Article 9 (Financial Resources) 연구소의 사업 및 운영을 위한 경비는 다음 각 호에 의하여 충당한다.
- 1. Government and local government grants
- 2. Income from lab business
- 3. Donations and other income
- Article 10 (Fiscal Year) The fiscal year of the Institute shall follow the regulations of the University.
- Article 11 (Budget and Finances) The budget and finances of the Institute shall be finalized after deliberation by the committee, and the head of the Institute shall report the finances to the committee after the end of the fiscal year.
- Article 12 (Details) Other details necessary for the operation of the Institute may be determined by the Director after deliberation by the Committee.
Bylaw [No. 382, Nov. 2, 2021]
- Article 1 (Effective Date) This Guideline shall take effect on the date of promulgation.
- Article 2 (Transitional Measures) Directors, committee members, and researchers appointed under the old Directive at the time of implementation of this Directive shall be deemed to be appointed under the amended Directive in Article 5(2), Article 6(3), and Article 7, respectively.
