About the Department

The Department of Korean Language Education at Incheon National University fosters middle and high school Korean teachers and specialists who can lead the future of Korean language education in Korea. The Department of Korean Language Education is where students are trained to lead the 21st-century knowledge and information society, develop competencies required for the 4th industrial revolution, and create innovative linguistic and cultural skills.

A good language teacher is not only an expert on language communication, a noble act of education, but also an expert on human beings. We provide optimized curricula, programs, and environments to foster Korean language teachers and professionals with expertise, humanity, and creativity.

The quality of education can never go beyond the quality of the teacher, and the quality of the teacher is determined by the quality of the university education that trained them. Therefore, the Department of Korean Language Education at Incheon National University operates a curriculum with depth and a wide range across Korean language education, Korean language studies, modern literature, and classical literature to foster the best teachers and professionals.

We also expand our practical understanding of Korean language education to contribute to the public and the cultural fields of the Korean language so that we can fulfill the mission of Korean language education with both public and international perspectives. As a result, many of our graduates are advancing into the field of education through the Teacher Appointment Examination and have made outstanding achievements in various public areas, publishing, media, and cultural fields.
