Designer Training
The Division of Design aims to foster design professionals with creative and design expertise to create and realize the aesthetic value of innovative designs required by the rapidly changing society for the future. Therefore, we provide the curriculum and in-depth programs to support research activities combining theory and practice.
Through balanced education in design theory and practice, we aim to collaborate actively with the design industry and foster designers with both creative expertise and social ethics.
Educational Research
We are expanding the scope of education not only to various fields of design such as visual design, video/media design, and product design but also to public design and urban culture environmental design based on eco-friendly eco-culture for the public. We aim to develop advanced design education through the convergence of design and advanced digital media technology.
We strive to build creative design problem-solving skills and establish the principles and methodological system of design research through interdisciplinary convergence.
Global Talent
To foster global designer talent that adapts to the globalization of design, students enhance their professionalism through creative research presentations and graduation exhibitions. Furthermore, we have various support programs such as international design workshops, overseas design seminar student participation programs, and exchange programs with excellent overseas design universities.
Curriculum
The Division of Design aims to cultivate creative designers who combine professional expertise and social ethics to create new design values. We provide a balanced education based on the basic major courses in the 1st and 2nd years, holistic creativity and thinking skills in the 3rd and 4th years, and specialized in-depth education in various design specialties.
Graduate School
There are 2 graduate programs: the Dept. of Design in the Graduate School and the Interdisciplinary Design Major in the Graduate School of Engineering.
The Dept. of Design in the Graduate School provides opportunities to explore theories and knowledge about design. It fosters professional design researchers who can contribute to developing design disciplines by researching original design capabilities.
Graduate programs include master's and Ph.D. programs. The Interdisciplinary Design Major in the Graduate School of Engineering is characterized by interdisciplinary design based on multiple majors.
