Incheon National University (President: In-jae Lee) announced that the “Starbridge Center” project operated by the university-affiliated Infinite Imagination Research Institute received the highest grade of “Excellent” in the operational performance evaluation conducted by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.

The Starbridge Center is a program that connects teachers, academia, and research institutions, enabling teachers to directly participate in research and to develop science education programs based on hands-on experience with advanced science and technology research, which are then disseminated to schools.

The Incheon National University Starbridge Center has carried out in-depth research on material property analysis using advanced optical technologies such as AFM at the university’s Nano Ultrafast Phenomena Laboratory (Department of Physics). In particular, its success in conducting joint research with teachers selected nationwide and developing high-quality professional science education programs was highly recognized in this evaluation.

In addition, the center actively disseminated the developed advanced science and technology programs to the field through teacher training programs, Science Growth Camps, and community outreach programs. Through these efforts, it has provided students with high-quality educational opportunities to discover their aptitudes and talents in science, contributing to the revitalization of regional science education.

Professor Soo-bong Choi, Director of the Infinite Imagination Research Institute (Department of Physics, Incheon National University), stated, “This ‘Excellent’ evaluation is the result of the synergy between the university’s advanced research resources and the passion of field teachers,” adding, “We will continue to make every effort through the Starbridge Center to nurture future science and technology talent and to reduce gaps in science education within the community.”

Meanwhile, the Infinite Imagination Research Institute at Incheon National University operates the Starbridge Center and the Convergence Education Experience Center to expand access to science education and foster future talent.
