The Dept. of Korean Language & Literature fosters intercultural students with humanistic abilities and international perspectives based on creative discourse production and critical cultural interpretation skills.
Students will learn about the traditional fields of study in Korean language and literature, as well as courses that expand and deepen them.
Based on fundamental knowledge of the Korean language and literature, students can complete a specialized curriculum focusing on the 'Korean language teaching ability', 'Creative writing ability', and 'Glo-cal cultural planning abilities in consideration of their interests and careers.
Our primary focus is the systematic and professional understanding and study of Korean Language & Literature.
We explore philology, the study of the use of words and letters in ancient, medieval, and modern times, as well as the evolution of writing. We also provide in-depth and systematic education and research in Modern and Classical Literature, which studies various genres such as poetry, novels, criticism, essays, poems, classic novels, and tales.
Based on essential knowledge of the Korean language and literature, students can complete a curriculum that specializes in cultivating 'Korean language teaching skills,' 'creative writing skills,' and 'glo-cal cultural planning skills,' taking into consideration their interests and careers.
These courses will enhance the possibilities and potential for convergence with other disciplines, breaking away from the fixed and formalized nature of the existing Korean language and literature program.
