Dept. of Embedded-Systems Engineering
Embedded systems refer to advanced electronic systems—such as smartphones, smart home appliances, automobiles, and robots—that combine software and hardware to process desired operations quickly and accurately while consuming minimal electricity. Our department cultivates engineers who breathe true life into embedded systems by teaching the software, hardware, and artificial intelligence knowledge necessary to develop these systems.

Introduction
Embedded technology refers to the technology that equips various objects surrounding us with intelligent software. It is a core technology for building a connected world that enables computing to be used anytime and anywhere, including smart devices, automobiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), and the Internet of Things (IoT). An embedded system is an advanced electronic system in which software and hardware are closely combined to process desired operations quickly, with great precision, and accuracy while consuming less energy. Our department operates a specialized curriculum that combines sufficient theoretical knowledge with practical skills centered on industry demands, aiming to cultivate global talent equipped with the ability to design and develop convergent software for embedded systems.
Each curriculum includes many essential courses that must be mastered as an embedded engineer, such as embedded system design technology, embedded software design technology, sensor and control engineering, communication and network technology, and image processing technology. Furthermore, the educational curriculum is systematically structured to maximize software development capabilities by integrating programming languages essential for convergent software development, such as C and JAVA, across various subjects. This curriculum is the secret behind our department consistently ranking first in department evaluations within Incheon National University for many years, and it serves as the foundation for students equipped with practical skills to consistently achieve excellent results in national-level competitions.
