The Japanese Language Education Study Group is a club for students from the Department of Japanese Language Education at the College of Education. We conduct various activities such as research trips, discussions, and studies to contribute to developing Japanese language education.
- Academic field trips in Japan and abroad (collecting textbooks and cultural education materials)
- Japanese language education research presentations
- Collect Japanese-language commentaries on historical palaces and famous tourist spots in the metropolitan area, and review and correct errors
The Department of Japanese Language Education conducts volunteer programs in language, culture, and humanities education for students from multicultural families to train middle and high school, Japanese language teachers and multilingual specialists. Among them, the educational volunteer group "Tomodachi" provides Korean language and culture instruction and humanities education mentoring to students from multicultural families from various schools, including local children's centers. The students also develop the attitudes and basic knowledge they need as prospective teachers. After the volunteer activities, they discuss teaching methods and educational materials to strengthen their skills as future teachers.
At the Media Education Research Club, we broaden our understanding of Japanese culture by experiencing it indirectly through media, content and acquiring various Japanese language forms. We conduct the following activities to foster competent Japanese language professionals who can actively participate in various fields.
- Processing work such as editing and dubbing Japanese media (dramas, anime, etc.) to enhance Japanese language skills.
- Production of original language videos to understand communication functions and scene-specific language behavior cultures and to gain confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Japanese to build competencies that can be utilized in education.
- Develop a diverse perspective on the Japanese language and acquire basic skills that can be utilized in teaching and developing educational programs at school.
