Juye Lee Wins 1st Place in Team Event (far left) / 3rd Place in Individual Event
Juye Lee, an athlete from the Dept. of Health & Kinesiology at Incheon National University (President: In-jae Lee), competed as a member of the national reserve team at the 2026 Conquest Cup, held from June 3 to 7 in Istanbul, Türkiye, and achieved outstanding results by winning the women’s recurve team event and placing third in the individual event.
Now in its 14th year, the Conquest Cup is an international archery competition featuring compound, recurve, and traditional bow events, with more than 253 athletes participating this year. In the recurve individual semifinals, Lee narrowly lost to teammate Seul-ha Yoo, but maintained her composure to secure the bronze medal. In the team event, she demonstrated exceptional focus and teamwork, defeating host nation Türkiye to claim the championship and add a valuable gold medal.
The program was organized under the i-RISE framework and focused on activities related to the Treasure Islands 168 project. It introduced student-led activities using Incheon’s marine and island tourism resources and provided an opportunity for exchange with an overseas university.
Lee stated, “I am very happy to have achieved good results at an international competition as a member of the national reserve team.” She added, “I think our focus as a team until the very end led to a good result in the team event. I will continue working hard to show strong performances on even bigger stages.”
