The 34th Graduation Fashion Show <GAM> by the Department of Fashion Industry at Incheon National University will take place on June 5 (Wed) at 4 PM and 7 PM at the Seoul Fashion Creative Studio on the 5th floor of the DDP Fashion Mall in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.
Titled <GAM>, this graduation show captures the reflection and transition of students as they close their university chapter and step into a new beginning. It is a stage where the students express the concerns and passions of the past four years through fashion.
The theme “GAM (感)” is a polysemous Korean word that can extend beyond “emotion” or “sensation.” Based on the multilayered interpretations of the term, the students developed designs that reflect their unique perspectives and philosophies.
The show consists of four thematic stages:
STAGE 1: Migam (Aesthetic Sensibility) explores unconventional beauty derived from time, emotion, nature, and dreams.
STAGE 2: Donggam (Empathy) expresses shared emotional vibrations between distinct beings.
STAGE 3: Jikgam (Intuition) visualizes instinctive emotional reactions that precede analysis.
STAGE 4: Yoonggam (Fusion Sensibility) delves into complex sensations through hybridity, repetition, evolution, and reconstruction.
A total of 18 student designers will present their works, with each stage delivering a unique visual and conceptual experience.
Professor Kim Sun-hee, head of the Department of Fashion Industry, stated, “This 34th graduation fashion collection showcases the students’ design capabilities and artistic insights accumulated over four years. The students have taken full initiative in everything from planning and directing to promotion and stage operation, experiencing a full production process that mirrors the real fashion industry.”
Professor Lee Hyun-seung added, “Students demonstrated a deep understanding of the ongoing digital transformation in the fashion industry, integrating creative design with digital textile printing, 3D printing, and kinetic technology to present a forward-thinking fashion presentation. This show proves their ambition and drive to reach their goals.”
This year’s show is supported and sponsored by ‘WESTWOOD’, ‘Socks & Legwear Seongsugi’, ‘Dr. GraceLAB’, ‘CLIPEN’, ‘Jun Kombucha’, and the ‘Yi Ui-chin Royal Memorial Association.’ In particular, His Royal Highness Yi Jun, the great-grandson of Emperor Gojong of the Korean Empire, will be in attendance to honor the event.
The show will be streamed live via Instagram (@inuf.archive) and YouTube (@inu_fashionindustry), allowing anyone to watch online. Free admission is also available for those who register in advance, and the event is open to industry professionals as well as the general public.
