Center for Science and Culture in Incheon (Director Han Ki-soon, professor of Department of Creative human Resource Development at Incheon National University), announced on December 15 (Sunday) that it successfully completed the "Merry Science Christmas" event to revitalize science and culture in the original city at Incheon National University Jemulpo Campus.
This event is a festival where you can enjoy science culture as a family, and various programs such as science experience booths, science magic performances, and special lectures on professional careers were held. In particular, more than 300 citizens, including children and teenagers in the original downtown area of Incheon, participated and received high attention and response.
The event consisted of experience booths, performances, and special lectures on career paths. There were 13 booths where you can learn science by yourself, including ▲ Making the Solar System Bracelet at Incheon Gyeyang-gu District Seoun Library, which conducted a cooperative project with Incheon Science and Culture Base Center this year, ▲ Making Christmas Herb Smudge at the Urban Farmers' Flower Garden of Social Cooperative, ▲ Experience with RC Car of Renewable Energy and Use of Coffee Park at Salt Farm, ▲ Experience with 3 types of science teaching tools using trees at Voice Workshop, ▲ 24 Seasonal Coloring Book Experience of Turnips by Groottergi, and ▲ Making Stitch Christmas Card at Incheon National University's Life Science Class.
The performances and special lectures were run by Professor Lee Ji-yeon (Incheon University's Department of Creative Human Resources Development) and Professor Kim Kwang-hee (Gyewon National University of the Arts) to explore future career trends and specific career paths.
Han Ki-soon, head of the Center for Science and Culture in Incheon, said, "This 'Merry Science Christmas' event was a special place to experience and enjoy science in everyday life in the original city center of Incheon," adding, "We will continue to strive to revitalize science and culture in the local community through various science and culture programs that can be shared with local residents."
Center for Science and Culture in Incheon is an organization that conducts the "Local Science and Culture Capacity Building Project" and has been operated by the Incheon National University Institute for Science and Gifted Education (www.inuisge.kr ) since 2021. The base center carried out cooperation projects with 102 institutions in Incheon Metropolitan City in 2023, and is used by 170,000 Incheon citizens annually.
Center for Science and Culture in Incheon program is funded by the Science and Technology Promotion Fund and the Lottery Fund, and is supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Science and Creativity Foundation, contributing to the development of science and technology in Korea and the promotion of welfare for the low-income and underprivileged.
