Incheon National University Training Field Personnel for Semiconductor Infrastructure 3rd Year Project Pre-employment Education Compensation

Incheon National University's I-Nano Fab Center conducted the third year of business training during the summer vacation to cultivate field personnel using semiconductor infrastructure.

This training was conducted for 4th graders and graduates of semiconductor-related departments across the country as a process of understanding charge trap memory (CTF) devices and defect analysis techniques (40 students), an in-depth program for unemployed people. It began with the interest and enthusiasm of many students, with recruitment closing early with more than three times of education applications for a short period of time from the recruitment process of trainees.

The training was conducted through the online ZOOM platform for theoretical training (August 16, 19, 20) and field training (August 12-14), and the semiconductor process and analysis equipment installed in the clean room of Incheon National University's I-Nano Fab Center were used to manufacture and evaluate memory devices, and to enhance on-site practical skills.

The field manpower training project using semiconductor infrastructure is organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to cultivate talented people in the semiconductor sector, and it is a project composed of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association and 11 universities nationwide as one consortium. In order to secure mid- and long-term technological competitiveness in the domestic semiconductor industry, it is a program that supports education and recruitment-linked education for small and medium-sized companies in the semiconductor field by utilizing semiconductor infrastructure in universities.

"In the future, Incheon National University's I-Nano Fab Center will strive to become a mecca for practical education tailored to demand in the semiconductor field and job support for unemployed people through strengthening industry-academia cooperation and customized industries," said Jin Sung-hoon, a professor of electronic engineering at Incheon National University's I-Nano Fab Center.
