To all IBE students,
This is an official notice regarding the curriculum reorganization scheduled to take effect in Spring 2027.
Under the new curriculum, Economic Data 1 and Economic Data 2 will no longer be offered after the 2026 academic year. These are currently required first-year foundation courses for the IBE major. Students who have not completed them must carefully follow the instructions below.
Economic Data 2 will be offered for the last time in Fall 2026.
All first-year students and all students who have not yet completed Economic Data 2 must register for it in Fall 2026 without exception.
This applies even to students who have not completed Economic Data 1. Since there will be no later opportunity to take Economic Data 2, failure to register may create serious problems for graduation and, for international students, D-2 visa extension procedures.
Students who fail to register will be fully responsible for any resulting disadvantages.
Economic Data 1 will no longer be offered after 2026.
Students who have not completed Economic Data 1 must take a substitute course. The substitute course will be announced by the IBE office after the curriculum reorganization is finalized.
Students must check the IBE website, INU app notifications, and university email regularly. Failure to check official notices does not exempt students from responsibility for meeting curriculum, graduation, or visa-related requirements.
IBE required courses are designed in sequence. First-year foundation courses prepare students for second-year courses, and second-year courses prepare students for third-year major courses.
Taking required courses in an arbitrary order may weaken academic preparation and cause serious problems with graduation planning.
Final Reminder
All students who have not completed Economic Data 2 must register for it in Fall 2026.
No exceptions or special accommodations may be available afterward.
