About Incheon and INU

Incheon, with its strategic location and international hub airport, serves as an ideal business and logistics center in Korea and for the region of Northeast Asia as well.

Since the past decade, Incheon has undertaken two major projects, namely, the Incheon International Airport and Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).
The new international airport at Incheon has become one of the largest airports in Northeast Asia, transforming Incheon into a major gateway to the world.

Meanwhile, IFEZ is the most ambitious development project to date in Korea; through IFEZ, Incheon houses hundreds of top leading foreign companies and research institutes. These significant additions are propelling Incheon to become a hub of Northeast Asian business and logistics. Amid the rapid progress of this age of globalization and digitalization, capable business and commerce experts are needed. Incheon National University (INU) has thus established SONAS with the goal of developing highly competent international business and commerce specialists.

INU moved to its new Songdo campus in 2009, in the international business district designated by IFEZ. Adjacent to the offices of GCF, the World Bank, and prestigious foreign universities, including the State University of New York and George Mason University, the INU Songdo campus will provide students with opportunities to accumulate global experiences in the most up-to-date educational environment.

INU legally became a national university in 2013, and this status will guarantee INU’s path toward becoming a leading educational institution in the region as well as one of the most outstanding universities in Korea in the 21st century.
As a top-quality institution in Northeast Asia, INU will continue to support SONAS to lead the university to its prosperity.
