On 2018 10th to 11th November, Dept. of History Education held 'Marine Military Defense Remains Inspection Visiting' in Gangwha County. Along with INU Dept. of History Education, local communities ?The Research Center for Incheon History & Culture and Incheon Metropolitan City Highschool History Research Association- co-managed the event. The participants were selected among prize winners of <6th Incheon History Civil Service Exam>.
'Ganghwa Marine Military Defense Remains' is the defense facility structured along the seashore to protect Ganghwa area, which was strategic location since the latter part of Chosun Dynasty. Incheon Metropolitan City is trying to register the remains into UNESCO World Heritage.
INU Dept. of History Education formed a pair of mentor/mentee by undergraduate students and prize winners. Students planned their visit independently to experience 'Ganghwa Marine Defense Remains'. The program projected to lead an interest to preserve and maintain the site.
Through the event, Dept. of History Education provided an opportunity to experience their major and information to enter the department.
The department said that they will continuously provide programs about preserving and maintaining cultural heritage in a cooperation with Incheon Metropolitan City branch of Ministry of Education to serve the role as a national university.
