INU Urban Science (Dean Ju-moon, Park) held ‘2018 INU Urban Science Smart city international symposium’ on December 6 at Arirang hall, in Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Hotel Song-do, Incheon.
The symposium, which was held to discuss the international case and development direction of smart city, was attended by about 150 students and officials related to smart city, including domestic and foreign experts in the field of smart city, Sung-hwan Sohn, head of World Wild Fund Korea, Dong-sung Cho, president of Incheon University, Jin-yong Kim, head of the Incheon Free Economic Zone, the president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and others.
The main events were Luncheon presentation and sessions divided into Session1 (Building Smart City: Lessons from Other Countries), Session2 (Smart City Development Strategy). Ten presenters from seven countries, including Mr. Thomas Sichelkow (Denmark) and Prof. Guangchun GAO (China), Mr. Jose Serrano (Spain), Dr. Patrick Safran (France), Prof. Dohyung KIM (U.S.), Prof. Piotr Ziembicki (Poland) Profile. Prof. Thomas KANG and Dr. Eunmi LEE (Seoul National University) and Christine Lim (SAP Korea representative) give a presentation and after the presentation, there was question and answer session allowing them to provide diverse opinions on smart cities.
"This international symposium has drawn up many useful lessons from various foreign cases, and concrete measures have been proposed for the development strategy of smart cities. Also, through the international symposium, the Urban Science will be reborn as a leading college in education and research of smart cities." said Ju-moon, Park, president of the University of Urban Science.
