2019 global cooperation study in foreign forest insect pest symposium will be held at the Taehwa Research Forest in Seoul National University from 13:00 on January 10 to 11:30 on January 11.
The symposium will be hosted by Bio resource and Environment Center (Head: Professor Yang-seop Bae) of INU and the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute's Technology Development Task Force to predict the spread and change of foreign invertebrates. Concerning climate change, it will be progressed with the theme the development of technologies that can predict the spread and change of foreign forest insect pests in Korea, including the Metcalfa pruinosa, which has serious problems in agriculture and forestry, and Leptoglossus occidentalis, which is expanding recently.
In particular, this symposium will be held with experts from related organizations, including Professor Yang-seop Bae department of Life Sciences at INU, Dr. Won-il Choi at the Center for Warm and Subtropical Forest Research Institute, Dr. Jong-ho Lee at Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency and researcher Hui-jo Lee at the National Institute of Ecology, to present the topic of overseas forest pests (monitoring, damage analysis, investigation of dynamics and Current status of invading foreign insects).
In addition, a comprehensive discussion on inflow of the foreign insects, including general academic presentations on foreign forest insect pest, is prepared, through this symposium, we hope that academic and practical exchanges and cooperation on the inflow of foreign insects by related experts will be expanded further.
