The College of Natural Sciences was established to promote the research of basic sciences, including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, etc and nurture students who are talented in science.
The College of Natural Sciences was established to promote basic sciences, develop new technologies and apply principles of basic science research to everyday life.
In 1980, the Department of Mathematics, Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Biology, and the Department of Home Economics were established. In 1988, the Department of Clothing was established, and these colleges formed the College of
Natural Sciences. In 2012, the Department of Marine Science was established. In the present, departments in the College of Natural
Sciences are mainly grouped into two: the Natural Sciences (Department of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Marine Science) and
the Life Sciences (Consumer & Child Studies, Fashion & Industry).

Educational goals and objectives
The College of Natural Sciences aims to promote the development of inquisitive scientists. The departments in the Natural Sciences offer major and general education courses which include introductory, theoretical and practical courses, and through these courses, aim to develop individuals capable of contributing to scientific development. The departments belonging to the Life Sciences have the objective of rearing talented individuals who can improve the quality of people’s lives and surrounding environment.
